Daryl Barnes is a passionate author and bird enthusiast, now residing in Woodvale, Victoria, Australia. His love for storytelling began in childhood, but it took a major turn in 2008 when he developed an interest in birds, sparking a new creative journey. In 2009, he began writing poetry, and by 2015, he was inspired to publish his first book. Daryl’s unique perspective on birdwatching and delightful sense of humor bring his characters to life, creating engaging adventures for children and families alike.

Daryl’s first book, Crazy Bird Stories: Prepare Yourself for Strange Birds Behaving in Strange Ways, was born from his desire to introduce young children to the wonders of birds through entertaining and educational narratives. Each of the twelve stories features a fictional bird with a humorous twist, paired with fascinating facts about real-life bird species. After the success of his first book, Daryl continued the theme of Crazy Bird Stories, producing Book 2 and subsequently Books 3 and 4 in quick succession. His mission is to cultivate a love for reading and inspire curiosity about nature in children, sowing seeds for lifelong exploration.
